OUR AUTHORS
Wolfie Press is proud to collaborate with authors who bring warmth, insight, and authenticity to children’s storytelling.
PAULA HOKE
Paula Hoke is a teacher and the mother of three who believes stories help children understand the world with kindness and care. Inspired by her love of learning, family, and history, she writes gentle picture books that honor memory, community, and the places we call home.
Chavez Ravine Before the Cheers reflects Paula’s desire to create stories that invite thoughtful conversations between children and the grown-ups who read with them. Through her work, she hopes to encourage young readers to listen closely, ask questions, and remember the people and places that shape who we are.

William Ferber has spent his life telling stories for the stage, screen, and page. After graduating as a drama major from Whittier College, he began producing and directing films, starting with Sleeping Beauty (1971), which later aired as a television special on KCET. Over the years, he has written and directed a wide range of projects, including films, documentaries, and plays, all guided by a love of character, imagination, and thoughtful storytelling.
Once Upon a Kingdom grew from William’s fondness for classic fairy tales, playful rhyme, and stories where problems are solved not by force, but by kindness and curiosity. Through gentle humor and rhythm, he invites young readers to look closely at the world and discover that even the biggest troubles can have caring, hopeful solutions.
